The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah, has warned that the criminal charges awaiting the beleaguered Gyakye Quayson, could come with severe punishment from the court.
Without sounding prejudicial on the Wontumi Morning Show, Mr. Richard Ahiagbah warned Gyakye Quayson to hasten slow and not to allow himself to be walked into another trouble by some executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“He has a criminal case and there will be punishment if he is found guilty, I don’t want to sound prejudicial about the case”, Richard Ahiagbah said as he spoke about the impending Assin North by-election.
The Supreme Court has released the official document in which it declared as unconstitutional the election of James Gyakye Quayson as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North in the Central Region.
This is after a seven-member panel of the apex court ordered Parliament to expunge the name of James Gyakye Quayson from its records.
Presiding Judge, Justice Jones Dotse on Wednesday, May 17, ruled that the Electoral Commission (EC) acted unconstitutionally in allowing him to contest the 2020 parliamentary elections without proof of him renouncing his Canadian Citizenship.
Mr. Richard Ahiagbah further urged the public to disregard the false claims by the NDC that the sitting government is now taking development to Assin North due to the by-election.
According to him, the NPP government started constructing roads and market in the area before the by-election kicked in.
