The Ashanti Regional Chairman of Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Kofi Owusu Omar has observed that there is hatred building in the heart of former President John Mahama due to the bauxite concession that was legally taken away from his junior brother.
It has been reported by the Daily Guide newspaper that one of the main reasons why former President John Dramani Mahama does not appear to ‘gel’ with President Akufo-Addo and his administration is because of the bauxite concession that the NPP government took from the NDC leader’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama, in 2017.
The newspaper also published that there are unconfirmed claims that the former President has said before he will let his NDC cooperate with the Akufo-Addo administration, especially in Parliament, the Nyinahin Bauxite concession in the Ashanti Region that his NDC administration controversially gave to a company called Exton Cubic, linked to his junior brother, be returned.
Reacting to the news on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the GCPP Ashanti regional chairman noted that Mr. Mahama’s posture demonstrate clearly that should President Akufo-Addo send him on an errand, it is likely he would reject the national assignment because of the bauxite issue.
