A former Member of Parliament for Madina, Alhaji Bukari Amadu Sorogho, has described the people of Central region in derogatory terms calling the region the headquarters of witches and wizards in Ghana.
The staunch member of the National Democratic Congress stated on radio show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that the presence of witches and wizards in the Central region, contributed heavily to the defeat of the NDC in 2016.
In 2016, the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, had 491,635 votes representing 52.70% against John Dramani Mahama who had 409,766 votes representing 43.92% in the Presidential elections.
The NPP also had 17 Parliamentary seats against the NDC’s 4 seats.
