Tell Your Illiterate Wife To Return All Salaries From 2009- 2016- Abronye Fumes

The Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe Abronye has instructed Mr. John Mahama to return all allowances paid to his wife between 2009 and 2016, if he is indeed against the payment of salaries to Presidential spouses.

The NPP Chairman in an interview on Wontumi TV acknowledged the difficulties former first lady Lordina Mahama would have reading the Ntiamoa-Baidu Committee report that makes recommendations for the benefits bestowed on spouses of Presidents and Vice Presidents and for that reason, called on the literate persons around her to explain things better to her to protect her from supporting her husband’s public rant on the matter.

“Lordina can hardly speak or read English so someone should read the report for her and explain to her that the committee says she is part of the Presidential spouses that have been receiving money”, Abronye said.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has waded into controversies surrounding the payment of salaries for the wives of the President and Vice President.

In an article on his Facebook page, he described as ‘problematic’ “an attempt to sneak the First and Second Ladies into the article 71 office holders’ group”

According to him, the challenge is that the spouses of the President and Vice President are not captured among Article 71 Office Holders and, therefore, there is no legal or constitutional basis for it.

However, Abronye responded to his statement by shaming him for publishing lies on the topic.

“Page 61 of the report captures your wife as beneficiary. If you are saying the payment is not good, return all monies paid to Lordina from 2009 to 2016. You are claiming there is hardship in the country so please return all the monies you wife has taken”, Abronye dared him.
