Tears Flow As New Barcelona Boss Xavi Bids Farewell To Andre Ayew And His Al Sadd Teammates
Xavi has bid an emotional farewell to Ghana captain Andre Ayew and his Al Sadd teammates.
The Spaniard tactical brain was pictured in tears ahead of his move to Barcelona.
The Catalan legend will take over at the Nou Camp as Ronald Koeman’s successor.
Ayew, who joined the Blacks has taken to Twitter to thank Xavi for the short time they spent together and went ahead to wish him well.
“Mister thank you for everything. Your humbleness is unique, learned so much in this few months. Proud to have worked with such a legend. May Allah bless ur new chapter. Good luck Mister.”
Xavi, 41, spent 17 years at Barca as a player having made his debut in 1998 and was the club’s midfield engine.
Al Sadd, where Xavi has coached for two years, had originally said he would not be allowed to leave, but an agreement has now been struck with the Spanish side.
“The administration has agreed on Xavi’s move to Barcelona after the payment of the release clause stipulated in the contract,” the club posted on Twitter.
“We’ve agreed on cooperation with Barcelona in the future.”
