Some of these ladies who have enrolled have come out to do something for themselves and their families, the MCE stated.

START-UP CAPITAL:
The MCE noted that start-up capital and other resources are available to all persons who enroll on the training and vocational initiatives.

The resources, he explained are to serve as start-up or funds to enable those who pass out from the empowerment programs to begin their own businesses.

Many, the MCE revealed have stayed back because they want quick money to start something.

He stressed that any meaningful initiative thrives on having the required knowledge and hence the need for persons to spare some time to learn the trade or vocation they intend to make their own.

MUNICIPAL DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL WELFARE:
On his part, Mr Dickson Frimpong,  Asokwa Municipal Director for Social Welfare and Community Development said women who have been empowered through education or skills training have turned out well.

He noted that records available proves that when women are empowered and supported to be on their own they contribute to make the society better.

Mr Frimpong therefore intimated the resolve of the department to ensure all forms of violence and discrimination that are perpetrated against women and the girl child are eliminated from the society particularly within the Asokwa Municipality.

ASSEMBLY MAN FOR GYINYASE:
