The fake kidnapping story which was told by Josephine Mensah invokes the chilling plans by Samuel Ofosu Ampofo to kidnap women and young girls to create disaffection for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng has disclosed.
The National Chairman for the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is on record to have stated that he will initiate criminal activities targeted at the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Chairman of the National Peace Council including kidnappings.
Few days ago, one Josephine Mensah after a Police investigation was caught to have faked that she was pregnant and kidnapped at Takoradi.
The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko was first to make it public that the woman had cooked the story.
Speaking on the issue on Wontumi TV, Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng stated that anytime he hears about issues related to kidnapping, the only name that comes to mind is Ofosu Ampofo.
He called on the police to step up their efforts in the Western region to discourage people from committing crime noting that allowing crime to flourish in the region, could deter investors from coming to the area.
