Six Members Of Western Togoland Secessionists Jailed 13 Years

Six more members of the Western Togoland secessionists have been handed 13 years and six years imprisonment and a fine of 1300 penalty units amounting to GHc 15,600. The six are said to have played various roles in blocking roads at Sogakope and attacks on police stations at Aveyime and Mepe on September 25, 2020, as part of plans to secede parts of the Volta, Oti and Northern regions from Ghana. Western Togoland Secession Trial: Six Convicted

An Accra High Court has convicted six persons for their various involvement in activities to break away the ‘so called’ Western Togoland from Ghana. The convicts are: Gabriel Gorvinoa, Cephas Zodanu, Benjamin Gbadado, Richard Doglo Ametepe, Cosmos Favor, and Vincent Ramsayer Atsu Galey. The Court, presided over by Justice Mary Maame Ekue Yanzuh, has, however, deferred their sentence to Wednesday, November 1. The convicts are among the group of secessionists who attacked the Mepe and  Aveyime police stations on 25th September 2020 and took away police vehicles, weapons and also kidnapped officers on duty.
