Western North Region Most Expensive For Food In Ghana – New GSS Report Finds

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) launched its second Food Price Variability report today at the Accra Technical University (ATU), revealing significant differences in food prices across the country. The report, which tracked prices for 10 food items from January 2023 to February 2024, found that the Western North Region emerged as the most expensive for consumers. The food items tracked in cedis per kilogramme/litre were bread, beans, yam, noodles, cooking oil, tomato paste, milk, beef, iodated salt and imported rice. Western North Gets Integrated Recycling And Composting Plant

An ultra modern Integrated Recycling and Composting Plant has been commissioned in Sefwi Wiaso in the Western North region. The Plant will receive waste from Sefwi-Wiawso, Juaboso, Bodi, Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai and its environs and process it into organic manure for agronomic purposes in the region and plastic pellets as raw material for industries. Government Reclaims Over 1000 Hectares Of Galamsey Lands In Western North

The government of Ghana through the newly established National Alternative Employment and Livelihood programme ( NAELP) has reclaimed over 1000 hectares of land from illegal miners in the Western North. Dr Carol Louise Donkor, National Coordinator of the Programme visited some of the areas being taken care of by Dredge Masters, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC).
