Water Tariffs To Go Up Effective June 1

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has approved an upward adjustment of the water tariff for the second quarter of 2023. The new rates take effect from June 1. In taking this decision, the commission said it took cognizance of the cost of electricity, increased volume cost of chemicals for raw water treatment, the Ghana Cedi/US Dollar exchange rate and inflation, a statement issued on Thursday, May 18 said. PURC Must Stop Discrimination In Water Tariffs – Amcham Backs AGI

The American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana (AmCham) is backing the Association of Ghana’s industry call on the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) to end discrimination in water tariffs.
