Suspected Food Poisoning: Waakye Kills 5 Including Pregnant Woman

Five people have reportedly died after eating a meal of rice and beans, popularly known as waakye, they bought from a food joint at Oyibi Bush Canteen Junction, in Accra. About 40 people were reportedly affected, out of which five, including a pregnant woman and a lotto vendor, died. The victims including the waakye seller, popularly known as Yellow Sisi, and some of her family members were rushed to the Valley View Hospital, Oyibi Hospital, Dodowa Hospital and other facilities when they complained of severe stomach aches after they had eaten the food last week Friday. Photos: Actor ‘Waakye’, Laid To Rest

The final funeral rites of late Ghanaian actor, Reverend Stephen Prince Yawson alias Waakye, have been held. The funeral ceremony was held at the forecourt of the State House. The late actor died at the 37 Military Hospital on August 1, 2022, at the age of 52. Waakye featured in several prominent Ghanaian movies and was ordained a Reverend Minister in 2021. Veteran Actor, Prince Yawson ‘Waakye’ Reported Dead

Veteran actor, Prince Yawson has reportedly died. He is said to have passed on earlier today at the 37 Military Hospital after battling an illness. Mr Yawson was 52 years of age. The sad event was confirmed by veteran actor, Bob Smith Jnr (Diaboloman) who was inconsolable. The actor, popularly known as ‘Waakye’, has featured in many prominent movies in the Ghanaian space.
