Meridian Port Services Ltd (MPS) has announced a significant milestone in the second phase of Tema Port expansion project, following the departure of 15 cutting-edge gantry cranes from Shanghai, China to Tema. These world-class cranes, consisting of three Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and 12 Electric Rubber-Tyred Gantry (eRTG) cranes, have been carefully designed to enhance productivity and position Tema Port as the preferred hub for commercial container traffic in West Africa. MPS To Roll-Out Phase 2 Of Tema Port Expansion

Meridian Port Services Ltd. (MPS), the operator of Tema Port, has said it will roll out phase-two of the port’s expansion project, marking another significant milestone in its development. The expansion project aims to enhance the capacity and infrastructure of Tema Port to meet the growing demands of trade and connectivity and is scheduled to commence on June 19, 2023. According to the company, construction will be completed by September 2025.
