In the recently completed SIM card re-registration exercise, a total of 28,948,142 SIM cards were fully registered. MTN Ghana Reconnects Over 1.95m SIMs.

MTN Ghana has reconnected 1,954,295 of SIM cards disconnected as a result of the National SIM re-registration. This leaves 3,804,940 disconnected SIMs. In November 2022, MTN Ghana disconnected 5,759,235 customers. The reconnection was after the impacted subscribers completed their biometric capture. The National Communications Authority (NCA) in a letter dated March 20 2023, directed all operators to disconnect all numbers that had not completed their Stage 2 registration (that is the biometric capture) by March 31, 2023.
