A powerful rainstorm that struck Saturday evening has caused significant damage to the roofing of the VIP stands and other sections of the Sunyani Coronation Park. The most affected areas were the left and right wings of the VIP stands, portions of the Jubilee stand, and the DKM stand. The fate of over 400 pupils of the Manle Dada Basic and African Unity schools in the La Dadekotopon Municipality hangs in the balance after a rainstorm destroyed their classrooms. A nine-unit classroom block and adjoining offices at the African Unity School were destroyed in May this year but they have not seen any renovation yet. Residents Seek Support From Government After Rainstorm Destruction On Buildings

Residents of Tinguri, Yawoku, Gbani, Gbeduri, and Tinkaya in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region whose houses were destroyed by the rainstorm in the respective communities are appealing to the government to support them with building materials to reroof their houses as it is rainy season. The incident which happened on the 14th of May 2023 destroyed over 60 rooms in those areas rendering over 150 people homeless after the rainstorm. Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has directed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to construct a permanent dining hall facility for the Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School in the Ashanti Region.
