Breaking News: Pharmacy council shuts down RX MART PHARMACY in Kumasi

The Pharmacy Council of Ghana made a surprise move today, shutting down RX MART Pharmacy in Kumasi, one of the city's pharmacies within Moshei Zongo community. The council's enforcement team, accompanied by security personnel, stormed the premises, citing serious violation of laid down regulatory provision(s). The team arrived at the pharmacy around 11am, and after thorough inspection, ordered the staff to shut down operations immediately. The council says RX MART Pharmacy had been under investigation for several months, following failure by the facility's manager(s) to renew business operating permit of the facility for several years. The Pharmacy Council of Ghana has issued a strong caution to individuals involved in the sale or distribution of illegal substances, urging them to stop such activities immediately. Ashanti Region: Pharmacy Council Closed Down Life Dream Pharmacy After Delivering Wrong Treatment Leading To A Child’s Death

A 5-year old child died after he was delivered the wrong treatment at Life Dream Pharmacy in Kenyasi-Adwumam, in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region. According to complaint received, the 5-year old boy reported at the pharmacy in the company of his parents with the complaint of a rabid dog bite. The staff on duty proceeded to administer ATS Tetanus Vaccine, Efpac suspension, Amoxiclav suspension and Vitamin C syrup as treatment for the rabid dog bite.
