Nigeria Election: Peter Obi defeats Tinubu in Lagos

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP Peter Obi has defeated the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos, his home state. According to the results declared, Obi polled 582,664 while Tinubu scored 541,850. Although, the APC candidate won more local government areas, Obi defeated Tinubu with the majority of the votes cast in the state. All the results of the 20 local governments have been declared. Nigeria Election 2023: 146,913 Observers To Be Deployed For Elections – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of Nigeria says a total of 146,913 domestic and international observers will be deployed for the 2023 general elections. The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this at the INEC briefing for observers of the 2023 general election in Abuja, on Tuesday. According to the INEC boss, the number of observers is the largest in the history of the country. The commission accredited 196 national and domestic organisations that deployed 144,800 observers and 33 international organisations that deployed 2,113 observers.
