General Jurisdiction High Court (12) presided over by Justice Charles Gyamfi Danquah, has awarded Ghc 500,000.00 Ghana cedis in damages against the National Democratic Congress's (NDC's) National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, in favour of Energy Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh. In 2019, The then Minister for Education, and now Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, dragged Sammy Gyamfi, to court for defamation.
