The Ashanti regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has been installed a sub-chief in Nalerigu in the Northeast region. Unbeknown to him, Chairman Wontumi had only accompanied Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on a 'thank you tour' to that part of the country, when he had paid a courtesy call on the chief at his palace. Armed soldiers deployed to Nalerigu to arrest a purportedly enskinned Bawku Naba and the Overlord of Mamprugu clashed with the town’s youth at midnight.
