A staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a devote Muslim, has defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that he has come to a realization that it will only take the NPP to develop Zongos in Ghana. Murtala Mohammed also known as Prince Akuter, in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show stated that in 2016, he campaigned vigorously for the incumbent Member of Parliament for Asawase, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka against the NPP’s candidate, Mr Alidu Seidu.
