A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awal Mohammed, has asserted that there's no way the NDC can ever win an election without tribal politics. He cited the Tamale South seat as an example, which is occupied by the NDC, represented by Haruna Iddrisu. Awal Mohammed alleges that but for the Dagbon conflicts, Haruna Iddrisu comes nowhere near the seat because it was a seat occupied by Alhaji Mustapha Hamid, who represented the NPP.
