Lands Minister commissions Himang Ankobrah Community Mining Scheme; 8,000 jobs created

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapor has inaugurated the Himang Ankobrah Community Mining Scheme (CMS) in the Prestea-Huni Valley District of the Western Region.   The commissioning brings the total number of officially launched CMS concessions to twenty-five (25) nationwide.  The Himang Ankobrah concession, which is the third in the constituency, is anticipated to increase the number of directly created job opportunities from the government’s novel Community Mining Scheme model to 8,000. Lands Commission Interdicts 10 Employees For Alleged Stealing

The Lands Commission says it has interdicted 10 of its 16 employees who have been busted by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) for stealing more than GHȼ100 million. The employees are alleged to be part of a 21-member gang that conspired to manipulate a software of the Commission enabling it to generate fake duty stamps and steal money the Commission was to pay to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
