27 Suspected Land Guards At Bortey Man Remanded Into Nsawam Prison

The Circuit Court in Accra has remanded some 27 suspected land guard ls involved in a prohibited activities at Bortey Man in Accra into Nsawam Medium Security Prisons for two weeks. This was after they had each pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit crime to wit; false communication and prohibition of activities of land guards. They are said to have been involved in land guard activities when they were arrested on August 9, 2023. Okyeman Lands Taskforce on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, clashed with land guards, which resulted in the exchange of gunfire at Teacher Mante, a community along the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Ayensuano District in the Eastern region. The suspected land guards were allegedly hired by one Kofi Acquah, claiming the land belongs to his family, not Okyenhene, therefore, resisting the sale of the land to the investor– Rockstar company.
