The government has urged international airlines to consider partnering with domestic airlines to collectively grow the aviation sector in the country. “International airlines should consider partnering with the domestic airlines in a manner that will facilitate international airlines’ business,” Mr. Hassan Tampuli, the Deputy Minister for Transport has urged. There are currently 23 international and regional flights servicing KIA. Deputy Minister of Transport, Alhassan Tampuli, has disclosed that some international airlines have sent their applications to fly directly to Ghana - Kotoka International Airport. Ghana’s Kotoka International Airport has been awarded the Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Health Accreditation certificate. The ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme enables airports to demonstrate to passengers, staff, regulators and governments that they are prioritizing health and safety in a measurable and established manner. It also allows airports to validate their own measures throughout their facilities and processes.
