KATH Takes Delivery Of 3 Dialysis Machines

The Management of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi yesterday took delivery of three brand new dialysis machines from Nivaansh MediQas Ghana Limited, dealers in medical equipment, devices, and consumables. This increases the number of machines at the Dialysis Unit of the hospital to five. KATH is currently expanding its Dialysis Unit to cater for the increasing number of patients with kidney issues. Doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are threatening to embark on an indefinite strike. This is due to plans to move them out of their residences at Danyame in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi. The Chairman of the Komfo Anokye Doctors Association, Dr. Michael Leat confirmed on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday that they had been given one-week ultimatum to vacate the premises without any resettlement plans. The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will launch a $10 million fundraising drive for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s (KATH’s) reconstruction project on Friday, November 10, 2023. The renovation project, which is dubbed: “Heal Komfo Anokye Hospital Project,” has become necessary due to the continuous deterioration of the hospital buildings constructed 70 years ago.
