A Nigerian hairdresser who trafficked seven victims from Nigeria to Ghana to engage in prostitution, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. Promise Obianu Awayiaka compelled her victims to shave their pubic hair for ritual. The said ritual was to intimidate the victims to comply with her demands and ensure that they do not escape. Appearing before a Sogakope Circuit Court, Promise, 32, pleaded guilty to seven counts of human trafficking and she was convicted on her plea. Promise was ordered by the court presided over by Mr Isaac Addo to pay GHC10,000 to each of the victims as compensation.…

Beatrice Ofori is said to have received $4,500 and $700 from an agency for the act and promised to secure a seamstress job for the victim, but she (victim) ended up being a domestic servant suffering inhumane treatment. EOCO Busts Human Trafficking Gang

Seven Nigerians allegedly belonging to an organised criminal group have been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for their alleged involvement in human trafficking. The suspects, Osas Vincent, Kennedy Anthony, Godson Iyan Inye, Junior Ayala Ariyo, Desmond Johnson, Andrew Gabriel and Ebedebi Ayaye Friday, who were busted by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), have been slapped with 24 counts of human trafficking, assault, and participating in organised crime.
