Green Ghana: Hohoe Municipality Aims To Plant 30,000 Trees

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Hohoe in the Volta Region, Francis Fiakpui, has announced that the Hohoe Municipal Assembly aims to plant 30,000 trees. This initiative is part of this year’s government campaign, GREEN GHANA day celebration, themed “GROWING TREES FOR A GREENER TOMORROW.” Addressing attendees at the Green Ghana Day ceremony hosted at the St. Teresa’s College of Education in Hohoe, Mr. Fiakpui disclosed that the trees to be planted includes 100 cashew and mahogany trees. Calm restored as 12 people arrested at Hohoe following disturbances

The Police have restored calm at Gordenu near Hohoe in the Volta Region following a violent disturbance in which a Police patrol vehicle which was involved in an accident with a motorbike rider was set on fire by some members of the community. Police say “two people lost their lives in the violence and the motor rider who sustained injury during the accident is currently receiving medical attention”. President Akufo-Addo Commissions Gh¢6.07 Million Hohoe Technology Solution Centre

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Friday, 10th September 2021, commissioned the Hohoe Technology Solution Centre, one of five (5) new facilities being established by the Rural Enterprise Programme of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Hohoe Technology Solution Centre, located at Gbi Godenu, and constructed at a cost of GH¢6.07 million, will support Government’s industrialization agenda, particularly the 1-District-1-Factory initiative.
