The Volta Regional capital, Ho is reeling from a tragic accident that claimed the lives of nine individuals, including infants. The incident occurred at the foot of Galenkui Mountain when a 207 Benz bus transporting passengers and goods from Abotoase to Sogakofe allegedly experienced brake failure and collided with a Zoomlion refuse truck. Initial reports confirmed seven fatalities, but a nurse from Ho Municipal Hospital later revealed that approximately 10 people lost their lives in the tragedy. Some concerned residents in Hofedo, a suburb of Ho have raised concerns about the construction of a Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) filling station in a residential area. According to them, constructing the station in a residential and very close to an electricity transformer increases the risk factor of a disaster in the enclave.
