ECG, GWCL, NEDCo Pay GH¢1.2 Million As Compensation To Customers

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and Northern Electricity Company (NEDCo) have paid a total of GH¢1,297,118.17 to customers for the first six months of 2023 as compensation. The amount paid by the three utilities comprised of GH¢1,299,118.17 in the form of adjustment for billing challenges while GH¢5,000 was paid as compensation for damages caused to customers between January and June 2023. With the onset of the rains, the management of Ghana water company limited has informed the public, especially citizens living downstream of the Weija Dam, that it will begin spillage of excess water from the dam any time soon.
