ECG, GWCL, NEDCo Pay GH¢1.2 Million As Compensation To Customers

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and Northern Electricity Company (NEDCo) have paid a total of GH¢1,297,118.17 to customers for the first six months of 2023 as compensation. The amount paid by the three utilities comprised of GH¢1,299,118.17 in the form of adjustment for billing challenges while GH¢5,000 was paid as compensation for damages caused to customers between January and June 2023. Finance Ministry Releases GH¢1.2billion Part Payment To ECG, GWCL The Ministry of Finance has released an amount of GH¢1.2 billion as part payment to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Water Company (GWCL) for the freebies they gave out last year as part of the government’s measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. GWCL Announces 4-day Cut In Water Supply From Tuesday   The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has said it is going to undertake major replacement of transmission pipelines in Accra. The exercise will affect the whole of the capital city, a statement said. The project, according to the company, will affect the flow of water for four consecutive days from Tuesday, September 15 to Saturday, September 19. “Residents are by this circular served notice to store water against the shutdown.”
