Kumasi: GUTA Threatens Mass Protest Over Alleged GRA Extortion

Members of the Ghana Union of Traders (GUTA) in the Ashanti region have reiterated their decision to stage a massive demonstration if the government and all relevant stakeholders do not take immediate and decisive measures to address what they describe as ongoing discrimination and intimidation by officials of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). GUTA Strike Suspended

The Ghana Union of Traders Association has suspended its strike action. This is contained in a press release signed by the General Secretary of the Association, Alpha A. Shaban. According to the release, the decision comes on the back of a meeting with the King of the Ga State, Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II who has promised to take the matter up to the appropriate authorities for urgent solution.
