A report by the United States Geological Survey has revealed that over 3,000 tonnes of gold were produced globally in 2023. China, Australia, and Russia were the top gold producers in 2023, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, Mineral Commodity Summaries, January 2024. China led the production with 370 tonnes, accounting for over 12 percent of the total global production, followed closely by Australia and Russia, each producing 310 tonnes.
