Ghana Gas Signs US$700m Deal For Second Gas Processing Plant

The Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) on Friday signed a Project Implementation Agreement with its joint venture partners to construct a second Gas Processing Plant (GPP Train 2) at an estimated cost of US$700 million. The gas plant would be sited at Atuabo in the Ellembele District of the Western Region and is expected to be completed within 24 months. The Ministry of Energy says records available show that the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC or Ghana Gas) granted Genser Energy a discounted gas price of $6.50 MMBtu as far back as 2019. According to the Ministry, there is enough documentary evidence to also support the fact that in April, 2018, Ghana Gas entered into a Gas Sales Agreement with Genser. Energy Ministry Denies Signing Deal With Genser Energy Ghana Limited

The Energy Ministry has dismissed reports that it has signed a deal with Genser Energy Ghana Limited.
