Terkpetey Michael, a dedicated tutor at Abuakwa State College, has been named the overall best teacher at the Ghana Education Service (GES) Outstanding Achievement Awards held in Koforidua. The 40-year-old Economics teacher, who has devoted 15 years to education, was celebrated for his hard work and creativity. Over 24,000 Teachers Have Failed Their Promotional Exam – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that 55,917 (69%) out of 80,810 teachers due for promotion in 2023 passed the promotional examination taken in February 2023. This means that 24,000 teachers, representing 31% of the teachers due to be promoted to the various grades, including Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent in the Deputy Director grades, failed the promotional exams. “Out of 80,810 candidates who took the test, 55,917 candidates representing 69% were successful. GES Accountant Arraigned For Defrauding 33 Health Supportive Workers Over GH¢500K

An accountant said to be with the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been arraigned at the Circuit Court in Accra and slapped with 33 counts of defrauding by false pretense. Gabriel Akosah Bobie, 45, is said to have defrauded his victims, health supportive workers to the sum of GHc563,500 under the pretext of securing them financial clearance and biometric registration for them in the service. The Ghana Education Service (GES) says schools across the country are to remain closed on March 7, 2023. According to GES, the move follows the celebration of the 66th Independence Day of the country which was observed on 6th March 2023 and had vigorous preparation from the schools. “Schools resume fully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Placement for 2022 graduates of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into Senior High Schools and Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) has been released. President Akufo-Addo has intervened in the dismissal of the eight female students of Chiana Senior High School. A statement from the Education Ministry on Friday revealed that the President made the move after his attention was drawn to it.
