Hohoe United Football Club will replace Liberty Professionals in Ghana’s Division One League after they successfully acquired Liberty’s slot in the competition. On Tuesday, Liberty Professionals confirmed the club’s change of business operation, withdrawing from competing at the top level of Ghana’s football and to now focus on being some sort of an “academy”, developing players from grassroots with no focus on qualifying to the top divisions. The Ghana Football Association later confirmed Liberty’s place will now be taken by Hohoe United Football Club after the GFA received all incorporated documents of the change of name.
