Galamsey: Seized Equipment In Renewed Fight Will Be Destroyed – Nitiwul Government says all equipment seized from illegal mining sites as part of the revamped efforts to root out illegal mining will be destroyed. The approach differs from the previous efforts where the machines of persons engaged in illegal mining were seized. President Akufo-Addo on April 28 authorized the Ghana Armed Forces to deploy 200 soldiers to go after all persons involved in illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.
