An Accra Circuit Court has fined a 20-year-old washing bay attendant for impersonating a military officer by wearing camouflage trousers and a naval vest, and posting a TikTok video of himself. Alex Cobbina, also known as Mobitel, was fined GH₵12,000, with a three-year prison sentence in default. He was charged with falsely pretending to be a public officer and possessing military uniforms and accoutrements. Cobbina pleaded guilty and sought forgiveness when he was first arraigned on December 20, 2024. The court convicted him and deferred sentencing to today. A Tema High court has fined Ghanaian socialite, Afia Schwarzenegger GHC60,000, instead of her 10-day jail sentence. She will face a 2-year two jail if she defaults, the court order on January 31. 2023.
