The Nevada State Athletic Commission has hit back at referee Tony Weeks’ statement explaining his reason for controversially stopping Ghana boxer Fredrick Lawson’s fight in a first round loss to Vergil Ortiz Jr. The controversial stoppage took place this past weekend when Weeks called off the fight after Lawson took in several punches but didn’t look hurt.
