The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that the heavy rainfall experienced today, Tuesday, 23 April 2024, has caused outages within its distribution network. As of 10pm yesterday, 10th January, power was restored to the entire country. Wapco suspended the restriction on gas supply after high-level meetings and agreement reached between Wapco and the government. There is no dumsor in Ghana and no one is hiding anything from the good people of Ghana. Currently, we have an installed capacity of 5,138 MW and our peak demand as at 11 December 2023 is 3,618 MW. There is excess capacity to take care of all ongoing maintenance in Tapco, Tico and Akosombo. Wapco issued a letter to GNPC on 8th December for outstanding payments in December.…
