The Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police Service has been given the green light to destroy 256 fertilizer sacks of dried leaves all certified to be cannabis. Police say the destruction had become necessary due to the long period of storage leading to congestion at the Unit. According to the Police, some of the exhibits were derelict without any suspects and others were cases in which the Attorney General had advised against prosecution and the remaining were cases in which accused persons were discharged for want of prosecution.
