Surge In Blackmail: Cyber Security Reports 226 Sextortion Cases In 4 Months

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has reported a significant increase in online blackmail cases in Ghana. Following a March 2024 alert, which noted a 254% year-on-year rise in such incidents for the first two months of the year, an additional 141 reports were filed between March and June. So far this year, 226 cases have been recorded, resulting in a total loss of GH¢ 112,209.
