Gov’t Reviews Bawku Curfew

The Ministry of Interior has reviewed the curfew hours in the Bawku municipality to between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am. The revision takes effect from Thursday, January 25, 2024. This was contained in a statement signed by Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery. “The Minister for the Interior has on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument reviewed the curfew hours for Bawku Municipality and its environs from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am to 6:00 pm to 6:00 am effective Thursday, January 25, 2024,” the press release announced. Nkwanta Shooting: Curfew Imposed Following Death Of 6

The Interior Ministry has imposed a curfew on the Nkwanta township in the Oti Region. The curfew, as announced in a release took effect on Tuesday, November 21 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 am. This follows the death of six persons in a fresh shooting incident at the Nkwanta South Municipality. A ban has also been placed on the carrying of arms and ammunition or any offensive weapons. According to eyewitnesses, armed assailants opened fire on residents at the Nkwanta Central Market early this morning. The Minister for the Interior has by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya townships and their environs in the Oti Region from 6:00pm to 6:00am effective Sunday, February 26, 2023.
