Criminals

Transformers of the Electricity Company of Ghana ( ECG) in the Tema region continue to remain a target for criminals as the power distributor lost over 20 transformers in 2022. Prampram district alone recorded 18 incidents within the period. Kpone Senior High School area, PS Global, Abbey Lighthouse and Tsopoli Heaven’s Gate under the district are the locations where the incidents took place. Average of cost of transformers lost hovers around ¢69,000 with bigger ones costing even more. Apart from Prampram, Afienya district also had three transformers attacked in December.
