CETAG Suspends Strike

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has called off their strike action. This comes on the back of voting supervised by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Association on September 4, 2024, in which majority of the members voted to call off the strike action. “On the basis of the voting outcome above, the strike is suspended/call-off based on a majority decision with effect from Tuesday, 5th September 2023. The National Labour Commission (NLC) has advised the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) to refrain from their intended industrial action. In a letter dated July 11, 2023 and addressed to CETAG, the NLC indicated that the matter is already determined and failure to implement will lead to enforcement by the Commission. CETAG Suspends One-Month Old Strike

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has suspended its strike. CETAG has been on strike for a month in demand of better conditions of service. The strike distorted the academic calendar in various colleges across the country including the end-of-semester examination. This has compelled the Minister of Education to intervene pledging to resolve the matter in two weeks.
