The Twelve boxers representing Ghana at the African qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris have all been kicked out. The Black Bombers’ hopes were on Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey to save the face of the team after he managed to reach the semifinal. Allotey got past Ugandan, Fathia Shafik Mawanda in the quarterfinal round of the men’s flyweight division. Allotey came up against Ala Eddine Zidi of Tunisia in the semifinal on Thursday but also failed to progress to the final. He needed to progress and win his division to qualify for the Olympic Games. 2023 African Boxing Championships: Black Bombers Could Miss Out On Competition

Ghana’s amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers look set to miss out on this year’s African Boxing Championships. Cameroun are scheduled to host the competition from June 13-25, 2023. The Ghana Boxing Federation informed JoySports the Ministry of Sports agreed to fund the $70,000 bill for the Championships.
