Court Clears GFA Of Contempt Charges In Ashantigold Case

The Accra Human Rights High Court has made its ruling in the Contempt case brought by AshantiGold SC against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its 12 Executive Council members, the General Secretary, and Sheikh Tophic Abdul-Kadir Sienu. The court determined that the GFA and its officials were not served with the Injunction order of court and therefore were not in contempt of court. Ghana Premier League To Resume After Court Dismisses Ashgold’s Injunction Application

An Accra High Court has dismissed an injunction application brought before it by Ashantigold SC seeking to stop the Ghana Premier League from being played. The Miners’ action stems from their dissatisfaction over a GFA Disciplinary Committee decision to demote the club to Division 2 after they were found guilty of match manipulation at the end of the 2020/21 season.
