Data from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has shown that a quarter of its contributors are on a basic salary of GH¢500 or less – a situation that will negatively impact how much they earn as pensioners upon their retirement. According to SSNIT, about 434,655 workers who form a cumulative 25.35% of its contributors are paid a basic monthly salary of GH¢500 or less.
