The Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Education Rev. Fr. Kingsley Dwamena Asante has beseeched parents and guardians to support their wards in basic education and the second cycle institutions despite the Free Education policy.
He said the governments in recent times provided funds for GALOP schools with 55 beneficiaries schools within Dormaa central which is geared towards the provision of TLMs to aid teaching and learning, section of the money for the maintenance of school properties and other support stressing that though the government has been consistent in the provision of the necessary support for students in the basic schools and the second cycle institutions but that is not enough hence stakeholders, philanthropists, parents and guardians must also support for a better tomorrow in our education sector.
Rev. Fr. Kingsley Dwamena Asante therefore pleaded with parents to provide their wards with educational materials such as exercise books, pens, uniforms and others when the need arises for the success of their wards and the free education policy as a whole.
He underscored the negative impacts of examination malpractices on our future generations and chastised teachers, parents and stakeholders to put in efforts to curb the canker for better and improved education in the country denoting that Dormaa Central Education Directorate have put in measures to ensure mass sensitization on radio and public places to create the awareness on the need to put an end to examination malpractices.
He finally revealed that the Dormaa Central Education Directorate are working tirelessly to adjust to new educational reforms and ensure effective teaching and learning adding that the directorate will ensure adequate and equal utilization of government funds and support that will be given to enhance the quality of education in the Dormaa Central Municipality.
