The Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency, Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah, has lashed out at Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for communicating like an opposition member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I don’t know if you now talk for the NDC or yourself”, he said as he condemned the unprovoked attack Hon. Kennedy Agyapong unleashed on vice President Bawumia.
During his campaign tour in Kintampo East on July 16, Mr. Agyapong expressed his dissatisfaction with the depreciation of the Cedi.
He cast aspersion on the vice President by stating that Bawumia claims to be an economic manager but is seeking budgetary support from the International Monetary Fund and still claims he is a “strategist.”
But reacting to the message from Mr. Agyapong on the Wontumi Morning Show, Hon. Darko Mensah stated that there is an urgent need to correct the erroneous impression by his colleague to avoid facing the same internal challenges that led to the NPP’s defeat in 2008.
“Delegates have to listen to the corrections being made so that they don’t get peeved at the end of the day”, he said.
He also stated that the party has its own mechanism to protect itself from any form of implosion.
Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah called on the council of elders of the NPP to hit the same button they used to resolve and restore sanity in the party.
