Celebrity lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, has scolded the Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah for dabbling in unnecessary social media hype during the wedding ceremony of his daughter.
It would be recalled that Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) were after the daughter of Rev Korankye Ankrah to fulfil her tax obligation after trending on social media that she has received $1,000,000 as gift from friends on her wedding day.
Shortly after Naa Dromo Korankye Ankrah was asked to pay her tax, her father came out defending her daughter that the gift given to his daughter was not real but a ‘faith cheque’.
But Maurice Ampaw, slammed Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah for inviting this unnecessary attention upon himself when he could have saved himself from this embarrassment if he had chosen to avoid deliberate trends on social media.
Speaking on Wontumi TV’s Mmra Ne Abrabo Mu Nsem show which airs every Sunday, the lawyer stated that “do you remember the Sam Kurachie Ankrah one that became a problem? You daughter is getting married and you announce she is getting $1,000,000. When the Ghana Revenue Authority decided to come after his daughter, he comes out to say it is a faith cheque. Who put this pressure on you? A man of God, instead of you thinking about living a simple lifestyle, you want to trend.”
