Stop Kneeling Before Chiefs, Sponsoring Bogus NIB Polls- Lawyer Ampaw On Bawumia’s Running Mate Selection

Stop Kneeling Before Chiefs, Sponsoring Bogus NIB Polls- Lawyer Ampaw On Bawumia's Running Mate
Lawyer Ampaw

Seasoned lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, has asked some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop kneeling before traditional leaders and sponsoring fake polls to make them lool like a perfect match to partner Bawumia as running mate for the 2024 general elections.

In his analysis, he pointed out that the selection of a running mate usually goes to a person who is not desperate.

Kneeling before chiefs or organizing people” in his view, shouldn’t please Bawumia as he considers the names before him.

Addressing the ‘kneeling’ strategy deployed by certain camp to forcefully impose their candidate as running mate on Dr. Bawumia and catch his eyes, lawyer Ampaw stated that there are principles that govern the selection of a running mate.

“We don’t do it through lobbying or desperation”, he said as he outlined some of the key principles to consider.

Bogus NIB polls

The National Investigation Bureau (NIB) has conducted a survey centering on the selection of a running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Although the some top hierarchy of NIB has refuted the poll was sanctioned by them, many have spotted that it was a desperate move by a particular camp to catch the eye of flagbearer of the NPP and make him name their candidate.

Reacting to the “bogus” poll, lawyer Ampaw stated that the “NPP is winning the election (2024). We have serious security issues so stop the stupid things. When did choosing of running mate become their headache? We don’t need your bogus polls, we don’t need it now.”

He explained that former President Rawlings of blesseth memory had his time in 1992 to name his running mate without any imposition.

Again, he said current President Akufo-Addo had a pool of name to select his running mate from but decided to settle on an ‘unknown’ Bawumia.

He therefore wondered why others are heckling Bawumia to name a particular candidate as his running mate.

“It is time for Bawumia to choose his running mate and the NIB is talking about popularity. Stop that nonsense, the nonsense must stop”, he warned.
