.The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi has issued a stern warning to all aspirants especially those vying to unseat incumbent MPs, to refrain from making utterances that undermine the election process.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako noted that he has been keenly monitoring events and wants all aspirants who want to pick forms to contest to move away from insulting sitting Members of Parliament.
In an interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Chairman Wontumi stated that “don’t go and pick forms just to come and insult incumbent MPs. We won’t allow anybody to do that. We must show respect to everybody. Just go and pick your form quietly and I going to monitor the event”.
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will, on Wednesday, December 20, open nominations for individuals seeking to represent the party in constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament.
The party has scheduled January 27, 2024, as the date for parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting MPs.
